Today I decided to change the front bumper on the Fiero. The 300zx bumper, or the “Scarab”, is a rarity. I’ve never seen a Fiero with one installed in Canada; I purchased it via Kijiji. PISA makes the bumper, and the fiberglass work is top notch.
I have been Photoshopping a few mock-ups of the paint scheme I’d like for the Fiero. I’m going to retain the gold colour, but add a satin black to the mix.
Installing this spoiler was pretty straight forward. The instructions were written on it – measurements were made on the deck-lid and a silver sharpie was used to mark the points for drilling. Once everything was lined up, the deck-lid was sanded down to the gel-coat and epoxy was used to secure the spoiler. Heaters were […]
Just a couple of pics so I can post on other forums.
It took me quite awhile to find one of these – almost 8 years. Fortunately a local member in the greater Toronto area had one and the kit only had 1,500km on it. This is the (now defunct) RSM kit. It includes the bracket, pulleys, belt, piping, silicone couplers, blow-off valve, and the supercharger. The […]
I have obtained all the parts needed to do the 7730 ECM swap and the DIS (distributor-less ignition system, ie: digital ignition). The 7730 ECM is far superior to the standard Fiero ECM. The 7730 ECM updates 10 times a second, while the Fiero ECM updates every 1.5 seconds. The main benefit from upgrading to […]
The trunk seal on my GT was torn badly near the engine. They tend to tear over time – in most cases they will rip if you are trying to remove them. A member on Pennock’s Fiero Forum is reproducing these – the quality is excellent.
When replacing the EVAP purge valve (valve that re-circulates the gases in the gas tank) the embedded nuts in the canister rust-weld and fall right out – especially for those in a northern climate. To fix this, remove the embedded nuts entirely and go to your local automotive store to pick up a pair of […]
I was doing some measurements for a turbo installation. It’s been a while since I touched the engine bay, so I thought i’d post a picture of it’s current state.
The outer dew wipes commonly become brittle and fall apart over the years – mine were cracking badly. I bought a set of NOS OEM dew wipes from a local Fiero owner. It took about 2.5 hours to install.
