If you have an older fence, you can revitalize it for minimal cost with a few pressure treated boards and outdoor stain.

At the back of our property we had an older fence – it looked like it was about 10 years old. It was weathered nicely, but it didn’t match our decor.

I purchased some 1” x 6’ pressure treated fence boards, and BEHR outdoor deck stain (rated for 6 years). This project took a weekend to do – 1 day to secure the boards to the existing fence and to apply the first coat of stain, and 1 day to paint two more coats of stain (1 in the morning, 1 later on in the afternoon).

Total cost was about $170.
