I really did not like having one slotted angle (mounted to the ceiling) being the focal point of force when the garage door opens and closes. So I went back and revisited the structure of the hangar.

Then I decided to beef it up.

I just added a few more slotted angle pieces, and did it ever make a difference. The force is more distributed now, which is better for the motor, and the garage ceiling.

This thing is so strong that it could probably take a hit from a tank shell, …and not loose it’s strength. It’s amazing what a couple of pieces of metal and a few nuts/bolts can make structurally.
